    Head chef David Thomas was born and raised in Rhiwbina. He began his culinary career in Wales before leaving to spend more than eight years living and working in Italy — based in Tuscany, cooking in restaurants across the region.

    There he gained a deep, first-hand understanding of Italian food: its focus on simplicity, seasonality, and respect for exceptional produce. Pane Olio is a return home, and a return to honest Italian cooking, done properly.

    Do you take reservations?

    What are your opening hours?

    The restaurant opens Tuesday to Friday 12–2pm and 5–11pm, and Saturday 12–11pm. The deli is open Tuesday to Thursday 9am–4pm and Friday to Saturday 9am–5pm. Both are closed Sunday and Monday.
